  OUR History

The Latino Youth Leadership Conference was developed through the Education Committee of the Latin Chamber of Commerce in 1993 to increase the number of latinx students attending post-secondary education while developing their leadership skills and decreasing the high school dropout rate.

The LYLC started as a three-day conference held at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and College of Southern Nevada. Today, the conference brings together latinx students from all over Nevada for six days of leadership training and college/career exposure. Approximately 90 students are selected to participate in the conference, and are housed at the UNLV dorms for six days to experience college life.
